Chartered Insurance Institute Museum

The Institute has a small museum which is mainly concerned with the history of fire fighting. In the 17th century insurance companies issued fire marks which their clients had to display on the insured property to show that they had purchased cover. The museum has a collection of fire marks and other artefacts relating to the history of fire insurance.
